"Behold thou has a gift, and blessed art thou because of thy gift. Remember it is sacred and cometh from above." ~ D&C 6:10

In the hymn "O My Father" pg. 292  One of my favorite verses says "Yet often a secret something Whispered, 'your a stranger here' and I felt I had wandered from a more exalted sphere"
I truly believe and know with all my heart that we are strangers here. We don't belong on this Earth, we are just  passing through, Showing our Father in Heaven that we can pass this earthly test. Each of us has gifts and talents that are special and unique, it amazes me that there can be so many people yet we are all so different, everyone has something a little different to offer to this world.
Gordon B Hinkley said: " You need never feel INFERIOR. You need never feel that you were born without talents or without opportunities to give you expression. THERE IS SOMETHING OF DIVINITY IN YOU. You have such tremendous potential because of your INHERITED nature. Every one of you was endowed by your Father in Heaven with a tremendous capacity to do good in the world. Cultivate the art if being kind, Of being thoughtful, of being helpful. Refine within you the quality of mercy which comes as part of the divine attributes you have inherited."
The adversary is constantly working on us trying to get us to covet others talents and divinity we get distracted and lose sight of our own inherited divine worth.  We can be so mean to ourselves. We need to recognize when Satan is creeping into our thoughts, we need to stop them, I love how President Hinkley says we need never feel inferior. It is hard when it is part of our worldly culture to be so unkind to ourselves. To compare and covet.  But we can break the vicious cycle, we can stop, we can love our own individual, heavenly inherited divine worth. We have to pray for God's help to do so. We can cultivate our talents and do much good! Satan knows that, he knows if he can get us to degrade ourselves, it will weaken us, and make it so we hold back and don't measure up to true potential.
Let's all make it a goal to be kinder to ourselves this week, to remember we are strangers here, to recognize our divine worth and potential. So that we can do much good! :)

Love ~Al
